 COACHING

Picket Hill Equestrian Centre's coach is Sarah King,  EC Competition Coach and barn owner.

​As of July 1st, 2020 we allow outside coaches to give lessons. They must send Picket Hill Equestrian Centre a letter requesting to coach, specifying which discipline they intend to coach and whether they wish to pay per lesson or enroll in the monthly coaching membership.

Once an application is accepted the following rules will apply for approved coaches:

​1. All coaches must pay a $25/person/lesson fee to coach on our facility.

2. Coaches can also opt to pay a $250 per month membership to coach up to 4 students a month at our facility (use of Picket Hill horses for lessons is extra $25 per lesson extra). Any coaches looking to coach more than 4 students per month please contact Sarah King. Payment is due the 1st of the month from date of commencement. 

​3. Coaches must request permission before booking in lessons.

4. Picket Hill Equestrian Facility lessons and riders have priority on the arena schedule

5. Coaches may only teach lessons in the disciplines approved.

6. Coaches must ensure all their students sign a waiver once on the property and prior to riding.

7. All coaches must submit proof of current NBEA membership, coaching insurance, and proof of certification with their application and their application must be approved, with their name being added to the approved coaching list before they can book lessons.

8. All coaches must arrange to have lessons booked and written on the lesson board 24 hours prior to the lesson time.  If lessons are not written on the board then boarders who have turned up to ride or other lessons that have been booked and written on the board will take priority.

9. Non certified coaches maybe employed by Picket Hill and train under the EC coaching program with a view to becoming certified.  This program is supervised by Sarah King  

10.  The terms of non certified coaches are not covered under the above program.  Please contact Sarah for further details if you wish to be mentored for your  EC certification.
